Tottenham will sack Jose Mourinho at the end of the season if he fails to lead the club to a top-four finish in the Premier League, according to reports.
Mourinho, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs boss in 2019, is fighting to save his job in north London following the club’s disastrous Europa League exit. Tottenham beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in the first leg of their last-16 Europa League clash, before losing 3-0 in the return leg and crashing out in dismal fashion. Spurs will face Premier League champions-elect Manchester City in the EFL Cup final next month, with Mourinho hoping to supply Tottenham with their first trophy since 2008. But qualifying for next season’s Champions League is arguably more important for Spurs’ long-term prospects, so Mourinho will be axed if the club fail to finish in the top four this season, according to MailSport.
